Bezem, Naftali
(b. 1924)
   Israeli artist. He was born in Essen, Germany, and went to Palestine in 1939. In 1947 he was a teacher of painting in the detention camps in Cyprus. A number of his works deal with biblical and Jewish themes. After the death of his son (caused by a booby trap) in Jerusalem, he worked in Paris, where he painted a series of pessi-mistic paintings.
